Ok folks, here is the latest update for the coming Proton Exora , the new Proton MPV. Source from Prton said that the launching of this MPV will be postphoned to April. So folks, there you have it, a waiting time for another 1 months before the Proton MPV come to your town.
As usual the pictures are sourced from our blogger buddy from the motoring arena, Mr Paul Tan from Paultan.org.
Read below for the latest insight, articles from the famous motoring blogger Paultan.org.
Here below articles from Paul will be commented by me.
I bet you won't mind Paul, since the credit goes to you right buddy? ;P
Folks, here we go!
Paul says,
Proton Edar’s Proton Exora teaser page reveals how the Exora’s seats and seating configuration looks like. The seats are in the typical three-row MPV 2-3-2 order for 7 seats, and Proton claims them to be suitable for full adult seating.
I say,
Paul, the pictures look interesting enough with leather seats and full 7 seater for adult. Normally for other brands MPV the last 2 seats are suited for adult, that means adults will not be comfortable sitting there.
Paul says,
From the looks of it every seat (wrapped with leather) has its own headrest, and Proton says there are also individual air conditioning blowers for each row. From the details revealed at the Proton Technology Week, it is revealed that the dedicated air conditioning vents for the 2nd and 3rd rows will be located at the ceiling of the Proton Exora MPV.
I say,
Hmm.. it's nice to know that all seats come with headrest, different from other MPV, the middle seat on 2nd row usually have none. I think, it would be even nicer if the mid seat also have its own reclinable seat.
Wow! 2nd and 3rd row seat have its own air-con vent. Now Paul, this is totally superb!!Look folks, Honda Stream, Toyota Wish, Mazda MPV,Nissan Grand Livina come with no air-con vent for 2nd row seat, let alone 3rd row. Here in Malaysia with blazing, hot sun you if you seat at the back, you will normally sweat all over before the air-con cools the car cabin!
Toyota Avanza and Toyota Innova only have air-con vent for 2nd row seat.
Paul says,
The 2nd and 3rd row of the Proton Exora can also be folded in 6 flexible configurations, and it looks like the 2nd row’s middle seat can be folded down as an armrest. There will be a total of 10 cupholders in the MPV, which is more than 1 for each seat, so there should be more than enough space to keep one’s drinks on a road trip.
I say,
Its good that the 2nd row seat can be folded down as an arm rest, but I think it will be better if it can be folded to make way to the 3rd row seat like Mazda MPV and Toyota Alphard ( but Alphard is considered big MPV and spacious while Proton MPV is a mid-size MPV like Toyota Picnic alias Toyota Ipsum as known in Singapore. Toyota Avanza and Grand Livina is compact-size MPV)
10 cupholders is even nicer! each seat or each person in the MPV can have their hands free of drinking cup while reading books or magazine throuhout the trip. I would like mocha blended with all-day coffee in my road journey!!What would you like Paul? You see, those blend are quite tasty and the aroma is just fine with my taste bud.And of course i got the coffee bean from Jaya Jusco only at Tebrau City.!! ;-)
Paul says,
As previously revealed, the steering wheel will feature audio controls but there is no mention yet on what the phone button is for. The Proton Exora will have an overhead LCD player that can read VCDs and DVDs along with a variety of other storage devices such as devices using USB input, and a memory card slot that supports SD and MMC. This will likely be available only in the high spec model.
I say,
Paul, I guess the phone button on the steering wheel is some sort of mute button that you can press when answering a phone call, that's the simplest way I can think off.
If the Proton opts for more advance system, then the audio system might be integrated with bluetooth phone answering capabilities with your handphone or hand held devices.
Memory card slot like MMC and SD card would be great!!I guess USB slot should be installed in the system since USB pendrive is popular nowadays and widely used by peoples.
Paul says,
Speaking of specification levels, Proton has also revealed tentative prices for the Proton Exora on its booking page. The tentative pricing are RM 72,000 for the M-Line model with an automatic transmission, and RM 76,000 for the H-Line model with an automatic transmission. This is well under the RM 80,000 maximum figure previously quoted.
So far only prices for automatic transmission models have been revealed but if the automatic M-Line is 72K, a manual transmission M-Line could go under RM70k if Proton decides to make such a model available. But I feel manual is a must for the Proton buyer segment, and I am pretty sure their product team knows this too.
I say,
Not much to comment, but I think the M-Line Manual gear will be a hit among the mass who have big family members because the price will be lower than any other non Malaysian MPV brands. The price will be under RM70k would be an attraction to the big familes.
There you have it folks. Thanks to Paul from http://www.paultan.org. Until then, cheerio!!
